A new event launching in London in October will bring together operators to discuss a key strategic issue facing the industry today – mobile video.

The inaugural Mobile Video Industry Council is being held to provide a forum for operators to share knowledge and insights into managing mobile video –  from both a network technology and a business perspective.

The Mobile Video Industry Council

is the brainwave of Openwave Mobility, a company that works with mobile operators to manage, optimise and monetise mobile video. CEO John Giere says, in this blogpost “Why We Created the Mobile Video Industry Council“, writes that a number of factors are combining to make this a critical time for operators managing mobile video. These include the sheer growth of video traffic on the network, the rise of HD video, the increase in encrypted video and of proprietary protocols, and the competitive service challenge of hyperscale web players.

The Mobile Video Industry Council is bringing together senior operators from network and technology, business strategy and marketing sides of the business to discuss how best to meet these challenges and profit from mobile video. Attendees will:

  • Gain exclusive access to real word data from operator deployments  – and gain insight on current and future mobile video trends
  • Learn from  mobile video case studies shared by operators
  • Attend breakout roundtables on key issues, including 5G and NFV

Openwave Mobility is holding a select few places in reserve for operator personal to attend this Mobile Video Industry Council. Please click here to register your interest.
