Here’s Watson on…
Supplementary Downlink spectrum for 5G
“I’ve got some interesting use cases up my sleeve on that one. But we were really pleased that we got that. It’s probably not in the near term, you’re not going to see a smartphone in the near term using that spectrum because the chipsets aren’t there – but there are some other exciting use cases for that.”
BT’s network cloud
“What we see going forward is inevitably a coexistence of the Network Cloud infrastructure and running NFVi in the BT edge. Now [Google’ Clouds] Anthos is looking like a potential opportunity for that – but we are also talking to both AWS and Azure. I think we will see a co-existence playing out here.”
Losing Huawei’s innovation
“With the removal of Huawei is the innovation and investment in radio wave modulation. I’ve always said this, for massive mimo, the weight and density in active antennas – that’s what we miss in that area of innovation.”
