When the world’s first 5G base station goes into space this year, AccelerComm’s physical layer IP will be on board.
CTO Rob Maunder says that the company’s Physical Layer (PHY) IP has been developed to integrate with the specialist low power, radiation tolerant chips required for satellite applications.
“There’s a lot of work that goes into developing the signal processing in those devices. We’ve been working for several years, integrating our IP into the FPGA fabric, the AI accelerators and the embedded CPU cores.”
