Companies often talk about openness, and delivering open platforms to their customers – but what does that look like in practice, and what does it mean for the mobile network operator?
Vivek Chadha, SVP, Global Head of Strategic Growth, Rakuten Symphony, says the company is further proving its open credentials with its newly-announced partnership with Samsung, which will see the Samsung vRAN and vCore functions integrated within the Rakuten Cloud.
He says: “We’re pushing the boundaries and bringing more partners in. We’re being led by customer demand, and what our customers want to see.”
Chadha also trailed upcoming progress on AI-native and automated operations, saying the company is on the verge of a world-first automation certification.
“The change of emphasis is on scale and accelerating innovation. AI is becoming front and centre of our entire go-to-market strategy, in terms of how we think operations are going to be led in future – we will have some interesting things to start showcasing soon.”
