Enter The RANNYs 2016 to showcase the best in RAN innovation

The RANNYs 2016, produced by Avren Events in association with The Mobile Network, will reward operators that have taken the initiative to push technical boundaries in Radio Access Networks.

Ranny Awards 2016The Mobile Network is supporting The RANNYs 2016 in association with event organiser Avren Events. TMN is acting as exclusive media partner and its Editor Keith Dyer will act as Chair of a high level, independent judging panel.

The RANNYs are designed to reward operator-led innovation in the radio network, either in trials or in live commercial deployments.

Many awards exist simply as a fundraising adjunct to a conference or exhibition, but the RANNYs are different in that they only serve to act as a showcase and a platform for the best work done in creating the best mobile networks.

TMN has associated with the RANNYs for these reasons:

– They are solely operator-focussed awards that reward excellence in technology innovation
– They retain a clear focus on RAN innovation
– They are backed by a great independent panel of judges
– They are not inflated by lots of diffuse categories invented to attract sponsors
– They will be awarded at RAN World, an event that has attracted praise for its innovative format and high calibre attendee list

Event details
You can see details of the five categories and how to enter on the RANNY’s official site, plus some past winners and a list of the 2016 judges here.

Why enter?

Enter the RANNYs if you would like recognition for the work you or your team has done in designing, trialling, or deploying great radio network technology over the past year.

TMN will be producing a post-awards update on the winners and nominated entries – featuring case studies and profiles – that will extend the reach and presence of all award entries, and provide a unique insight into the latest in RAN innovation.

There is so much going on in this market on a test and commercial basis: from carrier aggregation, automated optimisation, the use of analytics, development of new small cell and edge-based architectures, introduction of new orders of MIMO configurations, spectrum and network sharing and so on.

That work deserves a great showcase – which is what the RANNYs offers. And to amplify that showcase TMN will be producing a post-awards update featuring case studies and profiles of the winning and nominated entries that will extend the reach and presence of all award entries, providing a unique insight into the latest in RAN innovation.
